Unable to CSV Import

Unable to CSV Import

I am trying a very basic import via an Excel exported UTF-8 CSV file, I'm on Windows 11 using the application. e.g. with a file of the format below. I am importing with ',' delimited etc (I am a software developer so used to this sort of thing)

LINE 1 : English,Greek

LINE 2 : exercise,άσκηση

I can import the file but then the fields 'English' and 'Greek' don't appear, so the template I am using means I see blank cards - this was working before earlier this year. I had been using the text to speech successfully before.

Can anyone tell anything I am doing wrong? or where there is an example CSV file and matching template? I don't see this in the documentation.

As a user I'd rather the basics all worked well than some of the more advance features.

I just tested this by creating a new CSV file with the two sample lines you provided in the post and it imported as expected for me (used the web app to test). Are you sure your template has "English" and "Greek" fields?

I managed to fix this, but I think the functionality has changed from last year and there is a bug now I suspect that been introduced, in that it's not possible to pick up the template fields after or during the import, it needs to be done before the import. So my import notes now say...

To import a deck it's IMPORTANT that the steps are followed IN ORDER :

  1. Create an empty deck
  2. Rename it
  3. Assign a template, e.g. English to Greek
  4. Import using the web interface a UTF8 CSV file with the first row having 'English, Greek'

If you don't do this the fields aren't picked up, so the cards show as blank, and it's seems impossible to find out what fields they have been assigned to.

If I've got any or all of this wrong happy to be informed!
